Rubble Chute, Rubbish Chute or Scaffold Chute — What's the Difference?

On a UK building site, the names rubble chute, rubbish chute, scaffold chute and debris chute usually describe the same practical solution: a flexible, controlled route for material to travel from the work area to a container below. This Ø50 cm Stortslurf® section covers those everyday applications, whether a contractor calls it a builders chute for renovation debris or a scaffolding chute beside a working platform. Rubbish chutes take several forms, but this flexible section is intended for the everyday applications described on this page.

A flexible chute for the job in hand

Used as a scaffold chute, the system can be extended one section at a time as work moves up the elevation. A scaffolding chute configuration keeps the route clear alongside the working platform, while a roofing chute is useful for tiles and gutter waste.

Using the Chute as a Roof Chute

For roof repairs, clearing gutters and handling broken tiles, a roof chute provides a controlled route from the roofline to a suitable collection point below. Position the lower end over the chosen container and keep the route clear, so the roof chute directs material away from access areas instead of leaving it to fall around the property. The same flexible section is often described as a roofing chute when work involves gutters, tiles or roof debris. A Waste Chute for Renovation and Site Clearance

During renovation, the same product may be described as a construction debris chute, a construction chute or simply a debris chute. From the roofline to the collection point
